Traveller recommends "remarkable" holiday in Dubrovnik
18 January 2011A jet-setter has spoken of his experiences on the Dalmatian coast and recommended holidays in Dubrovnik to anybody thinking of enjoying a foreign trip this year.
The post on Phil's Travel Blog explains even the first sight of the ancient city is an exhilarating one.
"This is truly remarkable. Picture a castle. The town resembles a castle literally from the outside. There is a moat, drawbridge, towers and incredibly thick high walls," the author states.
He goes on to explain no cars are allowed in the Old Town, preserving the marble streets and pavements.
And white stone buildings are another common feature – something the writer deems to be particularly attractive.
With the monastery, church, accommodation and shops all looking directly out over the Adriatic Sea, a holiday in Dubrovnik is one to savour, the traveller notes.
Britons can catch flights to Dubrovnik with airlines such as easyJet, Croatia Airlines and British Airways.
