Travellers advised on benefits of Croatia travel

As well as taking trips to Dubrovnik and Split - two popular Croatia travel destinations - holidaymakers have been advised to see what the northern Dalmatia destination of Zadar has to offer.

In addition to this city, which in the eyes of Seattle Times travel writer Carol Pucci is "worth [spending the] time exploring", tourists should apparently head to Belgrade and Novi Sad in Serbia, and Sarajevo and Mostar in Bosnia.

Each of the mentioned Balkan holiday spots were cited as potentially inexpensive eastern and central European vacations that are an alternative to Czech Republic capital Prague, which many believe has become overly touristy in recent years.

More and more people are opting for a holiday Croatia style, and the Post Office reported last month that the country's currency the kuna has been one of the best sellers in 2009 so far.

This suggests it is not just the Seattle Times writer who sees the country as an ideal holiday destination for the summer.
