Travellers "fall in love" with Dubrovnik
14 September 2010Travellers to the ancient Croatian city of Dubrovnik tend to fall in love with the resort shortly after arriving for a holiday there.
That is the view of Meri Matesic, UK director at the Croatian National Tourist Office, says the character of the area is enough to attract a wide range of tourists.
"Dubrovnik is the synonym for Croatia at this market but its timeless beauty attracts people from all over the world and usually they simply fall in love with this magnificent city," she explains.
Ms Matesic goes on to identify the cable car between the Old Town and the summit of the overlooking Mount Srdj, which opened earlier this summer, as the latest craze among tourists in Croatia.
She states one of its main advantages as being in a position to offer "spectacular views" over the city.
Dubrovnik Airport recently recorded its one millionth passenger of the year, 26 days earlier than it did in 2009.
