Travellers to Croatia arrive in replica royal train
16 April 2010Tourists in the Istria region of Croatia yesterday (April 15th) were treated to the sight of a replica of a famous royal train.
Majestic Imperator, a copy of the train used by Austro-Hungarian royalty, rolled into Opatija, bringing with it scores of travellers, states the Croatian Times.
Austrian and German journalists were on board alongside the holidaymakers and all will enjoy a three-day break in the coastal town.
Despite the exterior of the train mirroring those used by important people in years gone by, the interior is said to be up to date.
The programme for those now enjoying a Croatia holiday includes several concerts, a performance and a ball, the newspaper explains.
Some may wish to add to their itinerary by hitting the beach or visiting some of the numerous cultural and historic spots in the Istrian region.
One favourite could be the Istrian Peninsula, which is cited by many travel experts as one of the most beautiful places in Croatia.
