Travelling to Croatia 'is fashionable and in-trend'
06 September 2010Travelling to Croatia and enjoying its natural beauty, such as that found in the Plitvice Lakes National Park, is currently one of the "in" trends in world tourism.
That is the view of Janice Law, writing for the Daily News, who says the country has plenty to offer in a variety of ways.
For example, the palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian is a man-made wonder to behold in the ancient city of Split.
Although only part of it remains, the shops, hotels and restaurants it houses within its winding streets and white marble structures are worthy of a visit, Ms Law explains.
And from resorts such as Split and Dubrovnik, taking a day trip to the famous national park is a realistic prospect.
Tourists who venture there can enjoy "a sensory experience of water, sounds and fragrances from many plants, or navigate wooden walkways or footbridges over 16 turquoise lakes linked by a series of waterfalls", the writer notes.
From Split, days out on nearby islands such as Brac and Hvar are also easily accessible.
