Travels along the 'stunning' Dalmatian coast
03 April 2009The Dalmatian coast is home to some of best scenery and tourist attractions in the continent, it has been claimed.
Writing for Australia's the Sun-Herald newspaper, Ben Stubbs has detailed his adventures across the fabled birthplace of legendary traveller Marco Polo.
Among the Croatian region's interests are its cuisine, natural beauty and easy accessibility from other parts of the region, wrote the respected travel journalist.
Mr Stubbs wrote: "Within the islands of the stunning Dalmatian coast is Korcula, a sliver of pine-studded hills and curling white-stone coves looking out across the Adriatic Sea to Italy."
He added that the area boasted a number of must-see attractions, including "internationally recognised" windsurfing channels and stunning white wine-producing vineyards.
Earlier this week, Claire Mann wrote in the UK's Telegraph newspaper that there was no better way to explore the "thousand or so" islands off the Dalmatian coast than by boat.
