Trip to Croatia could be great idea for Celtic fans

Fans of Scottish football club Celtic may want to book a last-minute holiday in Croatia after organisers of a music concert announced anyone arriving in the team's famous green and white shirt will receive a free ticket.

Simple Minds are performing at the Spaladium Arena sports hall in Split on Friday, reports the Croatian Times.

The band's lead singer Jim Kerr is a devoted supporter of the Glasgow-based club - and organisers have decided to surprise him by enticing attendees to form a sea of green and white.

A Spaladium spokesman said: "We know he [Kerr] supports Celtic and would like to make him happy by having Celtic jerseys in the crowd."

Friday's concert is the latest leg of Simple Minds' Graffiti Soul tour.

Last week it was revealed by the Wall Street Journal that Croatian football fans are some of the most dedicated in the world - so fans of the sport may deem the country the ideal destination for an upcoming holiday.
