U2 rock the 'beautiful country' of Croatia
10 August 2009Rock-superstars U2 have wowed the crowds in Zagreb when playing their recent gig in the city.
The concert, which was part of their current 360 degree tour, saw 63,000 people attend the Maksimir stadium in the Croatian capital, according to the Croatian Times.
Introducing one of their famous hits lead singer Bono announced: "Thank you for having us here in the majestic land of a thousand islands."
The Irish singer did not stop there with his accolades for Croatia and its people.
He also said: "Wherever you come from in the region, thank you for coming, you make it even more majestic... you're from all over. Beautiful."
U2 are not the only stars who are choosing to visit Croatia this year. Oscar-nominated actor Mickey Rourke is due in the country on August 21st and 22nd for the Dubrovnik Film Meeting.
The popular film event has previously welcomed the likes of actors Steve Buscemi and Kevin Spacey.
