UK holidaymakers prefer Croatia's sandy beaches
02 July 2008UK holidaymakers have said their favourite type of holiday spot is somewhere in Europe which has a sandy beach, it has been revealed.
Research by Abbey Savings has found destinations with sandy beaches, such as the coastal town of Split in Croatia, are the most popular among British travellers, holidayhypermarket.co.uk has reported.
The report also revealed that over a quarter of people in the UK are planning a European break this summer and 62 per cent have been saving over the past year to be able to afford their holiday.
However, almost quarter also said they will be able to pay for their trip to Europe out of their earnings without having to save.
Those planning a getaway to Croatia may be interested to know they can keep their mobile phone costs down while away by finding out about international deals to make sure they are getting the most competitive prices, according to mobileguru.co.uk.
