Vespa Rally in Istria

Fans of motorcycling may have the perfect reason for choosing an Istria holiday this September.

The 2009 Vespa Rally - the fourth stage of the European Vespa Rally Cup - takes place between Medulin and Visnjan in the region between September 4th and 6th.

Whether people are taking part in the proceedings or just watching the spectacular event, the three-day spectacle is sure to excite them.

According to the official tourism website for the area visitors "apart from participating in the competition, will be provided with a rich entertainment programme".

Riders will arrive from across Europe to take part in the gathering, making it a truly international affair.

Various other events have been planned to keep people on an Istria holiday entertained in autumn such as the Hand Made Fairs in Pula and the Truffle Days, which run throughout the season.

The tourism site states: "Don't forget that Istria is at its best in September and October."
