Visit two of world's top beaches on Croatia holiday

Croatia has been named as the home of two of the world's best 40 beaches by a newspaper, both of which are available to those who take a holiday in the country.

German publication Bild said the Dalmatian coast and the nation's numerous islands present an opportunity for sun, beauty and glamour, the Croatian Times reported 24 Sata as stating.

First to win recognition was Lubenice beach, which can be found on the island of Cres and was included in the shortlist at number 15.

Just one place lower were the shores of Brac, where sandy coastlines, beautiful views and a relaxed environment are very much the norm.

The newspaper specifically highlighted the crystal-clear waters that can be discovered by those on holiday in Croatia, perhaps making the country the ideal place to have a dip or enjoy water sports.

Tourists seeking a livelier atmosphere may wish to head to Pag, where Papaya nightclub can be found, after the venue described itself as the region's "best kept secret".
