World photo exhibition comes to Split
15 April 2009The revered World Press Photo exhibition is to arrive in Split next month, displaying some of the best ever moments captured on film.
Between May 7th and 20th, individuals will be able to see a selection of internationally acclaimed photos as part of a display at the Adriatic city's Multimedijalni Kulturni Centar.
This year's event has featured over 96,000 photos by more than 5,000 photographers from 124 nations. Of these, close to 200 of the winning entries will be on display in Split.
Attendees will also be given the opportunity to attend a number of talks by famous photographers from Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzogovina, who will be on hand to discuss their own pieces, the Croatian Times reported.
Art enthusiasts may also want to come back to Croatia for the upcoming World Festival of Animated Film, which will see a number of short and feature length products presented between June 2nd and 7th.
