World's top tennis stars 'provide reason for last-minute Croatian holiday'
01 February 2010Tennis fans may wish to book a last-minute Croatian villa and head to the country for one of the sport's most prestigious events.
The Zagreb Indoors tournament kicks off today (February 1st) and lasts until Sunday (February 7th), with a host of top players in action.
Croatian Marin Cilic, the world number 14 who went down to Andy Murray in the semi-final of the Australian Open last week, is due to play at the event.
Also competing will be world number 24 Ivan Ljubicic, Jurgen Melzer (28) and another Croatian in the form of Ivo Karlovic (37).
Matches are taking place in the Dom Sportova arena in the Croatian capital - which could be the ideal destination for families or couples seeking a pre-Valentine's break.
Zagreb is widely considered to be one of Europe's most historic cities.
Today's play is headlined by Melzer, who faces a tricky first round clash with Daniel Brands.
