Yacht rally set for Croatia
13 October 2008A sailing school from Australia is planning a rally on the Adriatic coast near Croatia after discovering its 'majestic waterways' and 'picturesque islands'.
Yachtmaster Sailing School says the rally will be split between a cruise, race, training and being a cultural experience, according to sail-world.com.
The organisation says Croatia has idyllic weather, ancient seaside towns and a fascinating cultural history, according to the source.
Beginning in Split and ending in Dubrovnik, the tour will consist of 12 days of sailing and racing and two nights in hotels at each end of the race.
The trip includes plans to stop at some of the islands on the Adriatic coast along with six post race functions providing food and drink.
People attending the rally will receive advice and tips from an instructor who will be present on each team's yacht for one day of the event.
According to Flight Centre, an Australian travel company, Croatia is the third most popular country for natives of the country to visit in 2009, behind Greece and Brunel.
