Zadar 'is a beautiful spot for Croatia holiday'
23 February 2011People planning to experience the magic and beauty of a holiday in Croatia have been advised to head to the coastal resort of Zadar.
Andrew Eames, writing for the Independent, explains the town is now more accessible than ever, as a new motorway links it to Zagreb Airport in two hours.
Despite being an ancient settlement with many centuries worth of history, Zadar also manages to offer a contemporary side that attracts holidaymakers, students and shoppers alike.
And perhaps the best news of all is that the fascinating history, cobbled streets and lively coffee shops of the town are not the extent of the fun.
"There's a whole world just offshore. Zadar County includes 24 big islands and a further 35 which are uninhabited. And then there's the Kornati archipelago, a spectacular national park," notes Mr Eames.
Tourists can catch flights to Zagreb, from where they can transfer to Zadar, with easyJet after the budget airline opened its route to the city from London last week.
