Zagreb U2 gig sells out 'in 12 hours'
27 March 2009The eagerly anticipated U2 concert in Zagreb sold out within 12 hours of tickets going on sale, it has been claimed.
As reported by the Associated Press, hundreds of fans queued up for hours to secure their tickets for the August 11th event.
Maja Valjak, of Lupa Promotion, commented: "We've never seen anything like that in our career."
She added that hopefully the success of this performance would encourage organisers to book the band for another show in the Croatian capital.
One lucky music lover, Ksenija Pavlic, told the news agency that it took her four hours to secure tickets for the concert.
"I've been waiting for this all my life and I wasn't ready to miss it," she commented.
Pop fans who missed out on passes for the U2 performance may want to consider T-Mobile's INmusic festival in Zagreb over summer, which will feature sets from Lily Allen, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Kraftwerk, among others.
