Zagreb casino reopens with gala event

A casino in Croatia has been reopened with a gala evening following a revamp of its services.

The Branimir Centre hosted an event with Croatian performers Colonia and Kemal Monteno to celebrate the reopening, reports InterGameOnline.

Zagreb's casino was originally established in 2004 and also remained open to gamblers in the four-month renovation, which cost 1 million euros (£0.84 million).

The centre now offers six roulette tables, over 200 machines, a new interior and luxurious furnishings.

Emilian Truta, business developer for Wettpunkt, which owns the business, tells the source: "The opening night and entertainment is a way of saying thanks to the customers and giving something back to them."

He said the refurbishment was to give the entertainment centre "a nicer atmosphere".

Wettpunkt, an Austrian firm, owns another casino in Croatia, in Rijeka.

Earlier this year two casinos in Zagreb were forced to shut down by the government, the Europa Casino and the Hotel Westin, reports Javno.com.
