Zagreb citizens 'proud of Maksimir Park'
13 October 2008People living in Zagreb in Croatia are most proud of Maksimir Park and they consider it to be the healthiest place in the city, it has been reported.
According to a survey of 600 people living in Zagreb, one in three feels another part of the city, Lake Bundek, is the most successful city project in the last few years, javno.com reports.
The research was carried out by the Healthy City Conference organisation committee in a joint project with the World Health Organisation.
It also revealed nearly two-thirds of citizens thought their quality of life depended on local communities but they were not actively involved in them, the source says.
The people questioned felt the biggest threats to the beauty of living in Zagreb were unplanned construction and traffic jams.
Carried out ahead of the Healthy City Conference to be held from October 15th to 18th, the study aimed to reveal how people felt about living in the Croatian capital.
Singer Alicia Keyes performed in Zagreb on October 10th, as part of her European tour.
