Zagreb like 'nowhere you have ever eaten'
19 March 2009The Croatian capital of Zagreb has been singled out for its diverse culinary delights by an aspiring British travel writer.
Penning his wisdom in the Oxford Mail, Ben McKechnie visited the city during his recent travels around the Balkans region and was quickly left in awe by the variety of food on offer - specifically, pizza.
Mr McKechnie wrote in the newspaper: "Picking a pizza felt rather like playing Russian Roulette, but without the risk of blowing one's brains across the restaurant."
Despite these early anxieties, the intrepid writer eventually overcame his fear of food and came to enjoy his stay in the city.
He added: "It had been a memorable few days in the Croatian capital and I was sad to be leaving."
