Zagreb noted as 'deliciously rough and tumble'
07 September 2009It is not just Brits who are becoming enamoured with the beauty of Croatia, after the New York Times highlighted it as a great place to holiday.
Writer Alex Crevar has written about a short trip he recently took to Zagreb and claimed that the city is "deliciously rough and tumble".
With construction projects such as the Museum of Contemporary Art well on their way, new travellers are likely to become more and more drawn to the capital.
Highlights noted by Crevar include the 13th century Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Zagreb City Museum - great for finding out about the region's fascinating past.
The city has also been noted as a great place to eat, drink and be merry at establishments such as Caffee Bar Cica and BP Club for those interested in some jazz.
Zagreb is the largest city in Croatia and has a population of around 800,000.
