easyJet flight to Dubrovnik brings millionth passenger
13 September 2010More than a million people have now taken flights to Dubrovnik in the south of Croatia this year, after the number of arrivals at the city's airport reached six figures.
In what could illustrate a significant and increasing demand for holidays in Croatia, the landmark was reached on Saturday (September 11th), 26 days earlier than it was in 2009.
Some 44 destinations serve Dubrovnik, where a multi-million euro terminal was opened earlier this summer, reports Balkans.com.
Emma Day, who boarded a service operated by easyJet from the English capital of London to the coastal resort in Croatia, took the honour of being the millionth in line, the website states.
New routes and airlines have already been signed up to run from Dubrovnik next summer, meaning travellers in Belfast for instance can use Jet2.com to reach the city.
Dubrovnik has plenty to offer tourists, including a cable car to the top of the neighbouring Mount Srdj, ferry services to the nearby island of Korcula and a wealth of historic monuments.
