Unique four bedroom stone villa with pool in Talez on Vis Island
This exceptional stone
villa is set in extensive grounds and is in fact an entire hamlet called
Talez. The property has recently been refurbished and is presented as 3
apartments (2 x 1-bedroom apartments and 1 x 2-bedroom) in one stone building with an additional separate stone building that acts as a communal dining area/living space. The
views from the grounds are superb with the rear garden boasting views to the
Adriactic Sea on one side and a valley of vineyards on the other. There is also a lovely swimming
pool /
terrace area at the front of the entrance to the hamlet. Not only does the
villa make a wonderful holiday retreat for a
large family or group of friends but it could also be considered as a suitable venue for special occasions (birthdays, once in a lifetime
family gatherings, anniversary celebrations).
Ferries to the
island arrive at
Vis town and the
villa is about 20 mins drive from
Vis Town along the main Vis-Komiza route where you pass through a valley of vineyards and orchards. A track leads up to
Talez from the
Vis-Komiza road and there is ample parking in front of the hamlet for several vehicles. A stone path then runs from the parking area up to the main “street” of the hamlet. This cobbled path opens into a courtyard with a barbeque area to the right, a stone building that
houses a spacious communal dining area/lounge/wine bar is immediately ahead and to the left are the 3
apartment units in a
large Dalmatian-style stone building with all the
apartments positioned together as three terraced houses. Two apartments located in positions one and three consist of a ground floor kitchen/diner, first floor lounge and second floor double bedroom. If accessing the
apartments from the courtyard area guests enter directly into the lounge level. If accessing the
apartments from the opposite (
pool) side guests enter into the kitchen / diner area. The middle
apartment (apartment 2) is similar to
apartments 1 and 3 except that the second floor consists of a twin room and the third floor consists of a double room. When accessing each floor guests enter directly into each room (there are no hallways).
The rest of the hamlet also boasts a large, outdoor, covered dining terrace with valley views whilst the garden stretches up to the top of the valley. On this peak there is an ancient stone olive press, stone outbuildings and superb
sea-views across to the island of
Bisevo. The owners are a friendly and hospitable local couple who speak English. They also live in a
house in Talez but their
house and terrace is fenced and gated off with a separate entrance to the other side of the hamlet to ensure complete privacy for guests. This villa would suit a
family or a group of friends wishing to have an unforgettable
holiday on one of the most relaxing and stunningly beautiful
islands in Dalmatia which also boasts some of the best restaurants to be found in
Croatia.
