An oven and toaster would have been useful - we should have asked the owner who was very helpful
Impressed with: weather not too hot, eating out good value, friendly people
Recommend: Arsenal restaurant very good.
Favourite villa moment: Back from the beach
Stayed September/October 2015
Reservation was handled very well thank you and the owners were very attentive and helpful. The property is a good walk to the Old City but the bas terminus is outside the House. Caretaker was very helpful and gave us all the assistance we wanted.
Recommend: Restaurant in the "Old City" best is the Marco Polo. Quiet, excellent food and service.
Favourite villa moment: Wine on the terrace looking out to sea with two liners and a sailing cruiser anchored with lights at night.

Amazing views, really nice owners who were on hand to help you and even lend you items you need. We forgot beach towels and they were kind enough to lend us some. They will also pick you up from the centre and take you back to catch the bus/ferry to your next destination/airport. Really nice people. Will definitely go back. Nothing major really stuck out to what was missing, but having a toaster in the kitchen would have been great! We really missed this. All went well for us thanks, stairs may be a little challenge for older or less agile guests, but we expected stairs etc in the old town, so fine for us. We thought the property was presented lovely and given we are used to similar type of style and comfort at home, my wife loved it (me too). The Croatian girl had spent some time in the states, so did go out of her way to made sure we were well informed and the likes of how to get to a really nice beach a few k's down the road, the wall walk etc.
Impressed with: It surprised us how nice Croatia was. It was an amazing scenic place to visit with gorgeous buildings and views. The sea was amazing to swim in. It is not as touristy as other places so feel like you fit in more with the locals which we prefer. The Croatian people are very friendly as well.
Not impressed with: The food! Looking for a restaurant was quite hard. They seem to all follow the same menu for tourist people but actually don’t realise that they don’t need to do that because most people want to eat their food and what they eat. We searched for really authentic Croatian restaurants when we went to Cavtat after Dubrovnik and the food here was a lot better!
Favourite villa moment: The view to wake up to in the morning was amazing. We actually want to buy the place!!!

This was an excellent property with very friendly owners. Extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming.
Impressed with: Its beauty, culture and people.
Not impressed with: It was a bit pricey in the Old Town at certain resturants that did not necessarily merit the expense!
Recommend: Anything in the Old City! Oliva Gourment and Lokanda Peskarija to eat and Buza and Onofrio to drink!
Favourite villa moment: When I first saw the view!

The owner was very kind, he cooked us several time for free! He was fantastic. There was a restaurant in the corner: beautiful view, perfect food.

This was by far the highlight of our trip to Croatia. The only thing that could have possibly made the stay a bit better would have been a coffee maker! Location is ideal, and it was perfect for a couple for a few days - it was truly a “happy place" and we would absolutely stay there again.
Owner was not only the loveliest "host", but what a generous and delightful man. He was kind enough to pick us up at the bus station after our journey was elongated by a 2.5 hour bus breakdown, and he even woke up early to return us to the bus station himself rather than calling us a taxi. He was so knowledgeable, helpful, kind and engaging. We couldn't have hoped for a better person to introduce us to the beautiful city of Dubrovnik!
Thanks for helping us find such a great location!
Impressed with: The outstanding friendly service, the stunning coastline, and how great the food was!
Not impressed with: The heat and humidity were a bit overwhelming and we found ourselves hiding from the sun for about 6 hours a day...but this was OUR fault for going in the heart of summer!
Recommend: We only ate out for one supper, at the great Bota oyster and sushi bar in the city walls. We had magnificent service, and the local sparkling wine was a dream! Great oysters, interesting sushi, and a truly memorable dinner. We also had a lunch (pizza) at the Gallus pizza restaurant at the Pile bus station. Given it's location, we expected mediocre food and worse service; we were beyond impressed with the quality of the food (the "Gallus" pizza was divine!) but the service we received from our waitress was truly exceptional. What a pleasant surprise. We also tried out Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) at Uvala Lapad - such a fun experience, we went back for a second day of it! Cheap and fun - a definite must.
Favourite villa moment: Our arrival and discovering how delightful an owner we were working with, the view from our balcony (stunning), and the first swim we had at the local’s beach we could see from our balcony. Hard to beat!

Fantastic view from the balcony. The hotels along the same road would charge a small fortune for a room with a view like that. An easy stroll to the old town. Property owner was exceptionally pleasant and helpful.

It reminded me of how Greece and Italy were 15-20 years ago, before the Med became over run with tourists. The islands are beautiful and still unspoilt. Dubrovnik is, of course, very busy but it is a special place and definitely worth visiting. Everybody was very helpful and we had a very nice time.
Stayed July 2010
View, position, host all terrific. Shower needs to be hand-held to get a proper shower - in its holder it squirts the water sideways onto the door; there is also no holder to put shampoo etc in. Unusually for Dubrovnik we had a lot of rain, and there was nowhere to dry things out. Small details which could be improved

Very well equipped accommodation for our home away from home stays. I had been before but it was a first for my partner. He was so impressed with the country, hospitality and service, we are planning a trip with the family in two years time.
