Studio apartment in Sarajevo
This pretty studio room is located within a 10-minute walk down the hill from central Sarajevo. The convenient position of the property allows guests easy access to one of the most interesting cities in this part of Europe. Visitors cannot fail to be intrigued by the fascinating mix of traditional and modern, eastern and western cultures. Sarajevo is exotic, safe and incredibly inexpensive by European standards and the whole city is steeped in history. A walk through the city will take you past traditional buildings from the Ottoman Empire, mosques, synagogues, Christian and Orthodox churches as well as the bridge where the Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated which lead to the commencement of World War I. No visit would be complete without a visit to the Oriental artisan district of Bascarsija where you can still see copper and brass being forged and find yourself walking into an Aladdin’s cave of Oriental rugs, jewellery, pashmina shawls and leather goods shops all set against a backdrop of a fairy tale scene from the Arabian nights.
Located on the fourth floor (lift available), the studio room featured here is one of 7 apartments in total that are all decorated in a colourful eclectic mix of modern and antique furniture. Every apartment benefits from hotel facilities such as a mini bar, reserved off street parking, aperitif bar, reception area and staff on site that can help you with any further requirements you may have. The spacious studio room is dominated by an incredible trompe l’oeil lake and mountain scene spanning one entire wall. The double bed is located in front of this. There is also a balcony and a bathroom with bath . Internet connection and a fridge are available in the apartment.
Transfer to the nearest ski slopes takes approximately 20 minutes and can be arranged locally or visitors can pre-book a hire car through Croatian Villas. Although there is plenty of interest for the visitor from a cultural point of view, from a gastronomic angle Sarajevo is hard to beat. Charcoal grilled meats and delicious oriental sweets are a must to try and some of the best burek (a dish made from filo pastry with usually cheese, spinach or meat filling) served in the Balkan region can be found in Sarajevo. Outside of the city the mountains are an ideal place to visit in the summer for their scenery and the city of Mostar can be visited as a day excursion from Sarajevo. Sarajevo makes for an ideal two-center stay in combination with a stay in Croatia and can also be visited as its own city break destination.
