    To be honest, I can't fault the service provided or the location, amenities or accommodation. The sales staff that I initially spoke with were very friendly, informative and very professional. The accommodation only added to the superb service already experienced. It was a beautiful location and certainly more than we expected.

    We were met by the caretaker - she was extremely friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable - without being overbearing or intrusive. She advised that she was available if we had any problems or issues. It was the perfect blend.

    Impressed with: We would absolutely, definitely, without a doubt revist Croatia! The views were absolutely spectacular. The bays and coves were spectacular and the sea was so clean and clear. Also, I wasn't a fan of pebble beaches previously, but absolutely love them now! No more sand!!! Oh, and Croatian beer - it's beautiful!!! Absolute convert!!!
    Not impressed with: The drive was a little long to get to the villa - but this was a combination of us flying into Split and not realising how quick the ferry to/from Ploce was (also, I didn't take into account how calm the sea was - I get motion sickness so was a bit dubious about getting the ferries!). I can't say that we were unimpressed by anything in Croatia, only extremely impressed by all the views, people, and infrastructure.
    Recommend: We were not aware of how cheap the ferries were when island hopping - so if perhaps we had been more aware of this, we would have used these more and travelled a little further around. The bar on the beach in Mokola served superb pizza and were very friendly. The recommendations left in the information book at the accommodation were extremely helpful along with the information guides and maps. We visited some of the recommended areas/restaurants etc and can only concur with those recommendations - beautiful!
    Favourite villa moment: When we arrived. We had not booked a holiday via an internet site before so were a little dubious that the property we had booked may not live up to the info advertised or our expectations. The villa completely exceeded this. Also, resting in the garden on the sun lounger late pm!!

    Beautiful old house right amidst the old stone walls of Mali Ston with great views and patio. Villa was very well furnished and decorated. Due to the amount of steps to get to property it is only suited for people who are mobile and don't mind climbing in/out of their villa to do anything. Only negative is villa needs microwave due to location which owner seemed to resist. Only place in world we have visited over last 10 years that does NOT have one. Also owner did not know how to operate her TV which was a real inconvenience-again due to location and steps! Area is very scenic with great local red wines and seafood.

    Impressed with: The walls and salt farms are outstanding. Great location to visit Dubrovnik also.
    Favourite villa moment: Having drinks /meals on patio overlooking the ancient walls and fabulous views of bay!

    Stayed August/September 2013

    Owners were there to meet us and after showing us around said he was available by text or by mobile, but we didn't need to contact him and didn't have any other dealings with them.

    We did ask by email prior to travelling if beach towels were provided and were advised they weren't and therefore brought these with us and when arrived there were actually towels provided.

    The only downsides of this property are the lack of a pool, which there would be room to build in the largely unused garden at the rear, but understand this may not be practical given location. Fortunately it wasn't too hot and the sea is close by for a quick dip. The other issue is regarding the privacy of people walking up the steps to the Mali Ston walls, although there wasn't a huge amount of people - we actually caught one lady looking over the wall while we were sunbathing. After some careful locating of the umbrella this gave us more privacy, but a small fence or additional planting would resolve this. The additional of a BBQ would also add to the self-catering facilities.

    Recommend: We ate at Kapetanova kuca 5 of the 7 nights we stayed as the seafood was superb and the best in our 2 week trip across Croatia. All others in the village rarely had more than one or two tables taken, but Kap Kuca was full every time we went. Also stagnum in nearby Ston for good thin crust wood fired pizzas, a rarity as usual thick and Italian style.   
    Favourite villa moment: Drinks on the terrace in the eveningToo many to pick one, we loved the lovely village and fantastic seafood available locally. It was nice to have Ston just a walk away for groceries and morning coffee in the square watching the world go by. Would definitely return and hope Mali Ston doesn't become too commercialised as lots of the properties are currently being renovated.

    Villa comments: Great to hear people enjoy their stay overall. About the BBQ and more privacy - a big stone BBQ will be ready for 2013 and a fence of some kind to keep people from looking in, so that will be sorted.The pool idea is great but being located within the village walls, planning regulations for the moment do not allow for a pool to be built.

    Apartment 2 was great. Very quiet, scenic, tidy with beautiful landscaping. Host was very good, very helpful, and friendly. Good language skills in English. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a base near seaside in North. KRK Island is nearby but need to plan long drives to Istria, Lakes, etc. as they are distant. So best if you want place on seaside to relax, stay put with maybe closer area visits instead.  Not sure we would book one place again but maybe stay in several for two nights each so we better see country. Like apartments versus hotels but to ease travel would prefer to stay several places versus so much daily driving. (Restaurants) We liked Nada on Vrbnik on KRK Island and Francopan locally. (Enjoyed) Just relaxing out on grounds in sun with sea facing

    Impressed with: Beautiful country. Friendly people. 
    Not impressed with: Graffitti and satellite dishes on historic bldgs.

    We have just returned from our holiday in Croatia where we stayed in two of the properties handled by you.

    Both places we stayed were really good but particularly the one in Seget Vranjica where we spent the first week. The apartment was absolutely fantastic with excellent terraces to front and side, in a superb location. The owners were kind and helpful and made the whole experience perfect. We just wish we had stayed there longer.

    When you go self-catering you always take a bit of a chance on the quality of accommodation. On this occasion it was just brilliant.

    It is comfortable, has character, beautiful views and immediate access to the sea. A folder with local information and helpful tips about the property would have been useful. We found owner very friendly and kind. It helped that we spoke German and Italian as she explained she does not speak much English.

    Impressed with: The beauty of the coast and the friendliness of the people.
    Not impressed with:   The outskirts of the towns and the utilitarian buildings.
    Recommend: The Ribar in Seget Vranjika is excellent - good value for money, lovely food including very good grilled fish. Also friendly and relaxed. In Trogir, which is a fascinating old town, we liked the restaurant Vranjaka. Visiting the Krka National Park is worth doing, and swimming under the waterfall! if possible, eat beforehand as the restaurant there is rather busy and uninspiring. Split and the Diocletian Palace is definitely worth a visit. We had a lovely meal there at Kod Joze.
    Favourite villa moment: One of many favourite villa moments was getting up in the morning and going down for a swim before breakfast.

    Great location and view. A wonderful villa.  The owner was very helpful and attentive to our needs.
    The bathroom needs a deep cleaning & disinfection, pipes need to be replaced to get rid of the drain flies that are present.

    Impressed with: The nice and clear water of the Adriatic shore.
    Not impressed with:  The traffic in Trogir / Okrug Gornji is crazy, in august we had to wait every time at least one hour to exit the tourist area by car. A lot of time wasted in the car because the road are very narrow (~4m) and both way traffic!
    Recommend: Leonardo Restaurant, Rent a Boat from Marko.
    Favourite villa moment:  Every evening and morning in the balcony were memorable because of the great view.

    Villa Comments: Confirm receipt of feedback including with the negative comment. Regret the guests have discovered such inconveniences. Of course, revision, cleaning and all corrective actions will be carried out for future guests. It was the first comment on this matter in period of renting

    We had the most fantastic holiday in idyllic beautiful setting.  Would recommend. Caretaker was very kind and helpful when we arrived and throughout our stay. Some instructions leaflets on how to use apartment equipment and may be some maps and a guest book would have been nice.

    Caretakers were fine, not overly helpful but did the necessary. There was no brief though on what to do with the rubbish, we kind of figured it our ourselves.
    It would have been nice to have some sun loungers on the veranda and the outside chairs, or rather the cushions for them, were in a pretty sorry state.

    Impressed with: Some of the beautiful scenery in southern Dalmatia
    Not impressed with:   For us most of Croatia was too touristy. Despite the scenery and weather being stunning, we are not sure if we can put up with the masses of people again. Maybe out of season yes, but not during peak season.
    Recommend:  Hire a small boat to explore the coastline.
    Favourite villa moment: Sunset - great views.
    Villa Comments: Sun loungers  were in the garage so we don’t know how they didn’t see them. As for the garbage, it could happen we forgot to mention that but it is also written on the villa instructions given to guests which also includes local recommendations. All guests have our contact details and are advised to contact us if they need any help or assistance.  We are sorry we were not made aware whilst guests were staying at the property as we could have rectified the situation.

    An information pack in the property with useful information about the apartment (e.g. to tell us how the kitchen hot water is heated, as we had to work this out for ourselves) and information on local facilities. Shower heads need to be cleaned/replaced. A follow up visit by agent within first few days would have been helpful. We would have liked a clean half way through the 2 weeks - this is normal in holiday properties.

    We suggest you or the owner gives the property a thorough clean/check before the start of each season. For example, we had to wash all items in the kitchen before we used them because they were dirty and the hot water in the bathroom sink did not work initially. We liked the double bed - it was a good size and comfortable, but the screws used in its construction need to be tightened - they are loose and are noisy.

    Impressed with: Scenery. Good value. Friendly people. Good quality roads.
    Not impressed with:  Food, with the exception of fish and seafood which is excellent.
    Recommend: Restaurant by the sea at Perna (not sure of the name but it has the fish picnic boat). Villa Antonio Hotel -very friendly. Good buffet and lovely pool. Dubrovnic - worth the trip even though it is crowded. Ston and its wall. Ferries to Korcula are excellent. Ice cream shop in centre of Orebic where all the locals go.
    Favourite villa moment: Sitting on the terrace looking at the view and watching the boats etc - amazing.

    Villa Comments: We never had any complaints about the cleanliness. I have to admit that when we go to inspect the house before guests arrive, we are not checking each plate or spoon but overall the house looked spotless. When I was taking them to the house I gave them additional clean linens and towels as they were staying for two weeks and showed them around the house. They were asking about the pool, were quite impressed with the ambience and charm of the house. I also gave them instructions to the nearest beach, supermarket and other basic information and suggestions like every time. They were also informed that there is no half stay cleaning but that we will organize a cleaning lady for them if they wish – they said it is not necessary.

    On their voucher there was my mobile phone number and I told them not to hesitate to call if they have any additional questions or need any kind of assistance. We don’t go to visit guests after arrival – only on their request. Now I can only say that I’m sorry they didn’t contact me with this while they were here – we would take care of it right away.

    No one complained about loose screws, shower heads or hot water but I’ll go and check it out and replace/fix what is needed. The previous guests didn't mention anything about the shower heads. The main issue here could be low water pressure in high season but we will double check everything. I apologize for the inconvenience this might cause you.

    An excellent property, the owner was very helpful and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The location was just perfect and Mali Ston was quiet and peaceful without all the normal tacky tourist shops and restaurants.

    For some reason I did not receive an email from Croatian Villas with accommodation details and directions. I had to call a week before departure to get details but was dealt with efficiently and quickly.

    Impressed with: The natural beauty and that the area is protected from mass tourism. The people were also lovely, friendly and helpful.
    Not impressed with:  I cannot think of anything it was a perfect holiday.
    Recommend: Three restaurants in town, all good although Kapetana Kova was the best with great seafood, good wines and excellent service.
    Favourite villa moment: Trips to Dubrovnic, Korcula, Mljet, the walls of Mali Ston and boat trip to taste the famous oysters and mussels straight out of the sea.

    There is long term renovation work going on at the building next door and although it is not a constant ongoing noise it might be worth mentioning that there may be a small amount of noise from that from time to time. Generally it is quite peaceful.  The owner was staying in the village at the time and has a long term family history there so was always on hand and helpful with any questions. Anything she was not sure of she got back to us with information which was great. We also spent a lovely evening with the owner, friends and other guests which was very nice. We have taken holiday lets before and the only other thing we normally have that is useful is a short note on how to leave the villa on exit. I wasn't sure what was required. And perhaps a little mud map of the village and what is available there and nearby. When we arrived we were met and shown around but it's a lot to process and remember when you've just got there so having a note to refer back to is always helpful.

    Impressed with:  It is similar to my home country (NZ) in that it is not so busy or developed that you can still pull up at a beach, restaurant or shops and it is possible to get a park easily and it is not all paid parking. How refreshing!!
    Not impressed with: The drivers. Would do well with a minimum speed limit so other people aren't forced to overtake slow drivers in crazy places. Some overtaking lanes would be good. Would also be better if people stayed on their side of the road as people didn't pay much attention to the centre line.
    Recommend: It is possible to arrange for tours out of Dubrovnik to Mostar in Bosnia Herz to pick you up from the main road near Mali Ston if you request it. Local restaurants in village are good. 
    Favourite villa moment: The courtyard is a lovely spot for drinks or meals at home

    Air conditioning needs to be beefed up a visitor’s book with the many local activities from previous occupants would be really useful.

    Property response: I suppose that they were very dissapointed about the weather, it was raining all the time the whole week, very cold, they had heating on. Regarding the lights: there are 2x ceiling lights ( each with 3 bulbs in) and a lamp beside the sofa bed in the living room, again such a ceiling light and two lamps on each side of the bed in the bedroom...There is also a neon over the sink and one over the electric hob.

    It was perfect for our needs, demands and wishes. The only things are: - it is situated in the middle of industrial harbours which does not give the best feelings. But you do not feel any impact in the quality of the environment In general it was a very beautiful villa with an amazing pool and private beach!!! Thanks for this proposal.     Excellent. A lovely setting with great access to the sea.  The owners could not have been more helpful. They were horrified that one of the air conditioning units was not working (the apartment had one in every room) and immediately arranged for it to be repaired, despite it being a Sunday.

    The villa was located in a beautifully secluded bay and all the necessary equipment was provided. The owner was amazing kind and relaxed and even did 2 car journeys from Trogir to take me and my friends to the villa as we had no car. A meal had also been prepared for our arrival.

    Recommend: Lanterna restaurant on the bay. It was delicious!! Also great for sunset cocktails.

    Fantastic position with great views from the balcony and easy access to the sea from garden. Nice location with good access to Trogir, Split and surrounding area. Water taxi nearby which takes you into Trogir. House is split into two apartments which can be rented separately or together. Recommend taking the whole house as middle/upper floors are the best.

    Owner very helpful and on hand to deal with any queries. Would definitely recommend staying here.

    Just wanted to thank you for a fabulous holiday in TG001 villa near Trogir

    The villa was clean and modern with spectacular views of the sea from both balconies.

    The sea is so clear there and we could reach it in minutes via the garden.

    The area is quiet not overrun with tourists but an easy walk to the village and the boat taxi to Trogir

    We hired a little boat from the village rental place and went exploring anchoring in a deserted bay for snorkelling

    The caretakers were delightful. We had a problem with the fridge, drains in bathroom and Satellite tv and struggled to reach her by phone but once you got hold of her they came straight away to fix it.

    Theres a new Studenac supermarket opening this weekend up the road behind the villa so that will be handy for your future guests

    Also Baldo from the taxi firm Ivan Golez speaks great English and was really helpful he took us to Krka and waited all day to take us home bless him.

    We did find he was not there to meet us from the plane but I rang Davorka and she sent him to get us- apparently he had arrived to get us at 11.30 in the morning instead of evening.

    Also thankyou for the breakfast welcome pack and letting us stay till 7pm on Saturday which made our late flights much less stressful.

    I would definitely travel with you again and recommend Croatian Villas to friends.

    Very satisfied with the whole process from our first conversation, when they (Authentic Villa Holidays) were very helpful.

    Although it was no problem to us, I imagine that Ciovo is pretty well clogged with traffic in the high season and I feel that should have been mentioned by you.  Disposal of rubbish was a bit of a problem and nothing provided for recycling.

    Loved the garden area, great for BBQ's on the patio. Only saw caretaker on arrival, but she was easily accessible by 'phone. Very pleasant and helpful.

    We were very happy with both Villas VS001 and VS008 18-24 Sept 2012.  Hosts were excellent, no complaints at all.  Should we do another cricket tour to Vis, I will come back to your site, and would recommend the company.  

    Croatian Villa staff were very helpful at all times. There was one issue where a PDf was sent for one villa and not for the other.  It turned out that you don't use the PDf anymore. But it did provide a bit of confusion.  Nevertheless, your staff were very helpful and sorted it all out.

    Property is beautiful in great location equipped with everything we could ask for.  Our experience was absolutely faultless, cannot really think of any issues.

    Impressed with: Authenticity, lack of holiday resorts, no drunk, loud, rude tourists, beautiful views, beaches, architecture with narrow charming lanes, everything was absolutely stunning and breathtaking, we can’t wait to come back!
    Not impressed with: The price of fish in restaurants! sooo expensive :(
    Recommend: The best local truly experience we had in fast food bar; the best pizza in the universe, lovely atmosphere, welcoming and helpful staff was in the pizzeria KARIJOLA

    You were really helpful in finding a suitable property at a reasonable price - thank you! Caretakers were extremely helpful. Offered advice about the local area, transport options and recommendations of things to do on the island.

    Impressed with: The food and the people.
    Not impressed with: The weather, although thunderstorms are pretty impressive...
    Recommend: Pajoda restaurant (I think that's how it is spelt). Really good restaurant in Vis serving local cuisine. And definitely a trip to Komize, the fishing village on the other side of the island from Vis.

    Stayed  July/August 2017

    Alex has been very helpful, answering all my queries quickly and sorting things out for me

    The property is generally delightful - the bedrooms and en suite bathrooms are all beautifully fitted out, as is the living room. We did not need the sauna,"spa" or gym in temperatures of 30+! The kitchen is very well fitted out, the a/c is brilliant and all the outdoor seating areas are large and very comfortable. The pool is great, but the jetty is superb for diving and swimming - just have to be careful of the sea urchins!

    Owner was extremely helpful and wanted to do all he could to make our stay in his villa memorable: he organised a small boat for us for 4 days and took my sons to collect it from Slano, he brought us fresh fish from the fishermen, which he picked up at 7 am. When we had a problem with an a/c unit he came immediately to fix it and frequently asked if there was anything he could do for us - a charming and delightful young man.

    Impressed with: All the people we met were very helpful and proud of their country. They truly wanted visitors to enjoy it. The scenery is breathtaking - both from the sea and on the coastal road English is spoken everywhere and the children learn it at primary school.
    Not impressed with: The lack of investment in the infrastructure and the poor state of the economy. Apparently there is huge unemployment and disappointment that there has been so little help forthcoming from the EU.
    Recommend:  Obviously a trip into Dubrovnik is essential: we were advised to arrive after 4 pm, when all the cruise ship passengers have left and it is cooler. We drove straight up to the fortress, visited the War museum (fascinating) and went down to the city on the cable car, which is open until midnight. There is time to walk the City Walls, wander and have a meal before returning in the cable car to our free parking spot.(parking in Dubrovnik is difficult and terribly expensive) We loved having the small boat, with out board motor and sun awning, seating about 8 people, (which Alex and Ante organised for us) and visiting small coves for snorkelling. A lovely lunch spot is Luka's in Kobas, near the southern end of the Peljesac peninsula (turn left out of Ston) it is on the quay and we were able to swim between courses. No credit cards and quite expensive. Bakus in Ston has good food and is good value. The little kiosk on the way to Mali Ston is great for oysters. Gastro Vista on the road to Majkovi (Ante has details) has wonderful views and lovely food cooked on a wood burner. (no credit cards) We did our large super market shop in Konzum - 10 minutes out of the airport, which was useful as the small shops in Slano and Ston are limited
    Favourite villa moment: Many lovely moments, but perhaps the favourite was sitting in the garden at night star-gazing and counting shooting stars, with no light pollution - and a glass of Sljivovica (plum brandy)

    Stayed July 2016

    Idyllic setting in a very quiet, almost private, bay with plenty of space both inside and out and with its own access to the sea for swimming and snorkelling. The location is perfect for those wanting to be away from the hustle and bustle of a city, but only 40 mins drive north of Dubrovnik and just 15 minutes from the walls of Strom. The villa itself is very well appointed with sauna, games room and gym. There is even a wine fridge stocked with local wines which can be purchased, making sampling very easy! Each bedroom has a very modern en suite/ wet room and is air conditioned. The villa wifi proved itself to be very reliable after a slow start on the first day. Plenty of balcony and outside terrace space, both covered and open with bbq facilities available. All in all, a great place to stay, chill and relax, but within easy travel of Dubrovnik along the spectacular Croatian coastline.  

    The owner is a really nice guy who can't do enough to help you with advice and recommendations and even willing to acquire fresh fish from a local fisherman if you fancy it.

    Impressed with:  Beautiful scenery, very friendly people and reasonable prices, even for 'touristy' Dubrovnik.
    Not impressed with:  Nothing
    Recommend: Bakus restaurant in Ston served fantastic food with a great variety on the menu including local seafood and was also great value. All the coastline was a delight, but a drive up to the island of Korcula is worth the trip and a visit to the walls of Strom a must on top of the obligatory Old town Dubrovnik. If you get the chance, drive up to the top of the cable car for spectacular scenery.  
    Favourite villa moment: The tranquil setting of the villa is my abiding memory. Sitting outside by the pool with a glass of rosé taking in the beautiful sea and island views as the evening falls!
