Family Villas and Apartments in Croatia, Family Accommodations
(Caretaker) Extremely helpful. Very satisfied overall however Wifi signal is pretty low which makes it challenging to use properly.
Impressed with: Hospitality from people, good food
Stayed June 2013
Excellent location!!! The owner was wonderful. Very attentive and helpful. Full of information about local restaurants, attractions and excursions.
Better access to wifi - especially for people who may have a work emergency while on vacation
Impressed with: The people, the water and the mountains.
Villa Comments: Router is located on the ground floor of a 3-4 story building. Internet is not strong everywhere so maybe not so good in the bedroom with doors closed. On the terrace/balcony WiFi is usually very good.
Stayed August 2012
Excellent. The location was perfect and the town of Brela was adorable. Also, breakfast was included with our reservation which was a pleasant surprise. We will be back! The owners are fabulous! They had good recommendations of places to go visit and restaurants to try. Very warm and personable as well.
Impressed with: The diversity and the beauty.
Not impressed with: The wine.
Recommend: We frequented Obala restaurant, Gulliver's bar and had our final dinner at Konoba Panorama. All of these places were worth a visit or two.
Favourite villa moment: Soaking in the sunset on our private terrace with a drink in hand.
Stayed July/August 2012
Good-Excellent. There was some late night noise from the restaurant/bar below the property. The close proximity of this was not made clear in the brochure description - the word 'nearby' was used.
Impressed with: The weather, friendly and helpful people on Brac.
Not impressed with: Slow service in some Split restaurants - principally those that catered for tourists.
Stayed July 2012
Good location, very comfortable apartment. Nice views, beautiful sea and gentle people that speak English or German.
Stayed June 2010
Slightly confusing - although the apartment appeared to be managed by the Pastura hotel it was actually owned by Vrilo hotel - so any problems had to be reported to them and we couldn't charge anything at the Pastura.. Cleaning seemed slightly erratic - never sure when they were due so couldn't just leave towels on the floor as requested.
Impressed with: Still unspoilt, good food, cheap and friendly people.
Recommend: Rafting over at Omis. Bracera restaurant for squid chips and lovely salad.
Villa Comments. The apartments are not offered the same service as in the hotel so for example they are not cleaned every day, this is not included with self-catering apartments.
Stayed August 2013
The property is very good and may have more confort simply adding dish washer and washing machine. More ovre the air coinditioning system located on the roof is a little bit noisy. People of the hotel are very nice and kind, always helpful.
Impressed with: The beauty of the beaches and the kindness of people.
Stayed July 2013
Manager was so amazing, probably the best host of any of our travels ever. She was always willing to help and was a pleasure to work with! The accomodations were so homely and perfect! It was a great vacation!!
I thought it would be less expensive. I realize we went during busy season but I didn't realize how crowded the beaches would be. (Liked) The color of the water, the people, the food. I would consider going back to Croatia but there are so many places in the world we have yet to go so I’m not sure we will make it back, but I would definitely recommend it to others...
Stayed July 2011
They took care of everything we needed and were very helpful. Brought us a bottle of house wine as well! :) It was wrong check-in hotel. We were told that Croatian villas have not changed this info despite informing about this mistake! Only thing - I didn't like extra fee when making transaction.
Impressed with: Nature, beach & weather conditions
Not impressed with: Rain for two days, but this never can be predictable :)
Recommend: Explore the whole island!
Favourite villa moment: Special offer: 30% discount & complimentary breakfast. Otherwise we would have chosen another villa. Standard offer is too expensive!
Villa Comments: Correct check in details have been updated.
Stayed August 2012
It can be quite noisy, in the evening, it's situated above a cafe. And the little town comes alive in the evening. In general yes, good service at the reception of the hotel, the owner of the apartment helped with the removal of the wasps nest, but couldn't help us with the wifi.
We booked an boat at aventur. Boat was somewhat old but working, service was good and most of the time friendly.
Thanks for all your help with our special questions, everything we asked for was picked up fast and flexible and friendly!!
Impressed with: Coast, sea, all towns are well kept.
Recommend: Restaurant panorama,
Stayed July/August 2012
Really lovely location - overlooking the small harbour at Splitska
Stayed August 2009
Amazing views from this property. Excellent cleaning staff.
Hotel staff didn't explain how to get hot water (or heating which we never succeeded in getting and certainly needed it last week) which would have been helpful at the outset. Lots of semi wild cats around - due to proximity of fish processing plant no doubt - and the upstairs of the apartment did smell of cats - one day we found a cat inside the apartments so I imagine they are getting in and weeing/spraying whilst people have their French doors open. Might be worth informing people of the need to be vigilant / keep doors closed as the smell wasn't pleasant and will only get worse.
Impressed with: Cleanliness Absence of tourist tat.
Not impressed with: Manner of staff in immigration.
Recommend:Walk round to Splitska for a meal in either restaurant
Favourite villa moment: When the sun eventually came out. Waking up with the view of the mainland from your bed is pretty impressive
Stayed May/June 2013
We had a great time and fully enjoyed our breakfasts and evenings on the big terrace with the stunning view over the port of Milna. Nothing was missed. We actually found more than we expected; but actually all was clearly listed on the website page. Everyone proved helpful and very nice. Really glad with all people involved.
Impressed with: The beauty of the landscape. The sea. The architecture. Food and drink: Simple, natural and tasty.
Not impressed with: Garbage collection can be improved. Too many boats into and out of Milna port.
Recommend: We were regular customers of the "Pekara" closest to our house, because the breads, bureks, croissants etc. were simply irresistible! Lovely personnel too. We bought white wine, schnaps, olive oil and soaps from a local producer (Can't recall the name now), based 20 mt. from the Vox bar. Excellent products, all natural! We bought some marble art craft from an stall at the edge of the village, near the church: excellent products, beautiful, well-made, elegant, made for great presents.
Favourite villa moment: Breakfast on the terrace. Aperitivo and Digestivo on the terrace...
Stayed August 2015
There are ships arriving and then they play loud music until 2 AM in the morning! This is the only disturbing thing we have noticed! Furthermore an iron equipment would be nice.
Impressed with: Water coastline and friendly people.
Not impressed with: Prices are higher than expected.
Recommend: The restaurant in the back off the promenade about 50 mtrs away was very good. forgot the name.
Favourite villa moment: Sunset evening and morning Sunrise overlooking the harbour! very beautiful.
Stayed July 2013
Excellent. It was a lovely house in a perfect location. A hairdryer in the house would have been great!
Impressed with: Friendly, clean, unspoilt.
Favourite villa moment: Just enjoying the view from the roof.
Stayed September 2012
Excellent. The facilities were great although a washing machine would have been handy! :-) I assumed there would be one so packed light but not the end of the world. The WiFi could not be picked up in apartment 2 and only in the window of the sitting room in apartment 1
Impressed with: The clean water.
Not impressed with: The food.... I was hoping for a bit more authentic food. It was quite bland and salty and the fish was very expensive. Most food consisted of Pizza or food off the grill.
Recommend: Trip to Hercules was worth it to see the old Roman Mine. All the restaurants were lovely and everyone was really friendly and welcoming.
Favourite villa moment: Having al fresco meals with the stunning harbour view and buzz from restaurant.
Stayed July 2014
It was a shame the wifi was not initially working and the pool was not able to be used for 24hrs due to the pump breaking down. However, the local support was excellent. Very, was prompt in contacting back and did his upmost to resolve problems as quickly as possible.
Impressed with: Beautiful scenery, fabulous food, friendly people and good value for money
Not impressed with: Nothing, we were very impressed. The process ran smoothly, so nothing major to feedback.
Recommend: Postira was beautiful and had some lovely restaurants. We spent most of our time visiting the local beach coves.
Favourite villa moment: Grilling our dinner outdoors with the sun setting, enjoying the fabulous view of the mountains with a glass of wine and the kids having a last splash in the pool.
Staff was really really helpful!! Thank you.
There were quite a lot that we needed to buy for example sponges for dishes, soap for toilets, seasoning and folios etc. For further use there would be nice if you have more cooking equipment and that I mean like whisk, pancake spatula and other spatulas, better pan for pancakes etc. Otherwise everything was good.
Bikes where not in good shape and there where only one bike in use.
Impressed with: Brac Island
Recommend: In Skrip area, there were really nice and friendly people and I there for recommend the whole Skrip area to everyone to visit.
Favourite villa moment: Evenings when we had supper together by the grill :)
Croatian Villa Comments: Soaps and washing equipment such as sponges and washing up liquid are generally not included with self-catering properties. These need to be purchased although often items such as washing up liquid are left behind by previous guests. We have requested additional kitchen equipment to be supplied and the bikes to undergo maintenance over the winter period.
Stayed September 2013
Very nice and helpful person (caretaker) to contact with in Škrip. Five star man. Not disturbing and peaceful neighbours. Very disturbing , barking dogs especially early in the morning The Villa has 2 fridges but they are too small as for 9 people to chill food and beverages Other than that excellent.
Impressed with: Breathtaking views, peaceful people, crystal clear sea, amazing food.
Not impressed with: There is no such a thing
Recommend: There's no restaurant, bars really in this exact location, the one we know about it's not even worthy to put your foot in it. But there are some nice places in Supetar 6km or excellent ones in Bol 38 km away
Favourite villa moment: Every evening
Stayed September 2012
Excellent. Suited us perfectly. We returned to the mainland on the Sumartin-Makarska ferry which was very convenient and might have suited the journey out too.
Loved the village and the house. The land line number for the caretaker wasn't helpful as she used her mobile, and the person who answered didn't speak English
Caretaker was brilliant, extremely helpful (especially helping with sorting out a broken down hire car) , couldn't have asked for more. Even got up to see us off at 05.30
Impressed with: Beauty of scenery, cleanliness. Clarity of the sea. Friendliness of people.
Not impressed with: Our car hire company who were very obstructive when our car broke down, until Angela laid into them!
Recommend:The Golden Horn in Bol is lovely but very busy and nicest visited later in day -when parking was free too.
Favourite villa moment: The boys loved having a pool - and if they were happy we could relax.
Stayed August 2013
All was fine. Only annoyance was wasps. Too many of them to make eating on the terrace relaxing. Recommend to have some wasp nest treatment after the summer, possibly also to leave spray for guests.
Caretaker was very good
Impressed with: Welcoming and easy going people, fine weather.
Not impressed with: Busy roads and slightly chaotic ferry crossing arrangements.
Recommend: Local boat hire very convenient and reasonable price.
Favourite villa moment: Relaxing in pool.
Stayed August 2013
The welcome from the 'owner' was extremely friendly and informative. (Impressed with) The beautiful scenery, the stunning architecture and the friendliness of many people we met.
Stayed August 2011
Good selection of Croatian villas. Owner was delightful. Made Creme Caramel and pancakes for us on several occasions.
Impressed with: Beautiful coastline, sea and towns. Good food and friendly people. Good value.
Not impressed with: Lack of sandy beaches.
Recommend: Restaurant Dalmatino in the village was very good. Restaurant Slika in Milna did great pizzas. Milna and Sutivan best for shopping.
Favourite villa moment: Evening sunsets and the view were stunning.
Stayed July 2016
Owner was fantastic. Generous with food provided (egg custard on arrival, her now famous pancakes during our stay, as well as some cold beers, milk, juice and fruit). She also went out of her way to find and lend us some ice blocks to use, clearly borrowing some from a neighbour when she could not find her own. Always available, never intrusive, the perfect combination. Many thanks to her.
Found attractive property online. Responsive online and on phone. Air-conditioning in the bedrooms would certainly be welcome, but otherwise it was superb, thoroughly enjoyed and would love to return
Impressed with: Inexpensive, friendly, great weather, unspoiled, good food...
Not impressed with: Dog mess in Split.
Recommend: We had a good meal in the first of the two restaurants in Bobovisca. Loved Milna: charming, unspoiled but with excellent choice of restaurants and bars, great vibe and inexpensive. We hired a small boat with outboard for a day (kn500) which gave us a hugely enjoyed day from a different perspective (Stanko was excellent, has a couple of new boats and was very accommodating, providing fishing equipment for our children without any charge: 00 385 989 739 599). We visited Bol and Zlatni Rat just before peak season and were really impressed. Beautifully clean and relaxed. Also enjoyed brief visit to Sutivan.
Favourite villa moment: Just spending time around the villa and pool, enjoying the outdoor eating area and bbq. Those views...
Stayed June / July 2016
Owner was lovely- she had made a cake for our arrival, and stocked fridge with beers. She later gave us some fresh fish, and homemade pancakes. She was very helpful with advice regarding where to shop and eat. We felt like her valued guests.
Impressed with: Lovely coastline. Relatively unspoilt and uncrowded. Very friendly helpful people.
Recommend: Both restaurants in Bobivisce are good. There is excellent restaurant in Milna- Gajeta Konoba Wouldn't bother going to Bol beach- Long way and very crowded when got there. Not even sandy!
Favourite villa moment: Swimming in bay- beautifully calm and warm water with fabulous views.
Stayed August 2015
Beautiful location, great spacious house, fantastic views of the Mediterranean Sea. Owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you very much.
Impressed with: Surprisingly good infrastructure, very friendly people. Good value for money.
Favourite villa moment: Waking up in the morning and looking out at the water and sipping coffee. It's so beautiful.
Stayed: July/August 2016
I liked the villa and location of the villa that I rented. Everything was fine. The caretakers were great and we also met the owner.
Impressed with: Croatia is a wonderful country. It's beautiful, the people are friendly and helpful, and most everyone spoke English (good for us because we don't speak Croatian!). It has natural beauty, Greek and Roman ruins, old towns from the Middle Ages, great museums (in Zagreb especially) and the food was fabulous.
Recommend: Trogir old town is an absolute gem and a few minutes away. Advise visitors to Trogir old town to park in the large lot on the right near the wooden bridge which goes to old town (the lot is just before the market). Going a bit further is always jammed with traffic, at least in the summer. The market is open in the summer well into night and has great vegetables, cured meats, trinkets, food stalls, etc. Across the street is a fabulous fish market and a conventional supermarket. The fish market seems to sell out by noon or so, so go early. Seget has several good restaurants in the harbor area, a short walk from the house. We loved Samac and Mediterano. In Trogir, Mirkul was great. Seafood is the way to go in every case. The harbor area of Trogir is a good place to have a few drinks and watch people. Split is good for a visit, although parking is a challenge. Krka Park is about a hour away and is worth a visit although it's jammed with people in the summer. There's a second park that's part of Krka that we drove to that was much less crowded. The falls there weren't as spectacular, but it was still quite beautiful.
Favourite villa moment: Snorkeling. The water below the house is crystal clear and has literally hundreds of sea urchins clinging to the rocks and many small fish.
Stayed July 2016
Everything was very professional
Impressed with: Sea and mountain. Friendliness of people
Not impressed with: Country needs to manage the infrastrcuture to cope with the tourist. Main example is waste management as some place can get quite dirty.
Recommend: RIBAR restaurant in Seget. Very good food even if the service is slow (like in other Croatian place) so it is OK. Krka national parc / Plitvice national parc / Trogir / Dubrovnic / Sibenic To rent a boat to see the islands
Favourite villa moment: This one
Stayed July/August 2015
Good-Excellent. Caretaker was great!
Impressed with: The people, food, weather and clear water.
Not impressed with: The wasps
Recommend:Recommended a restaurant called Ziza (in Donji Humac) which was a fantastic upmarket restaurant experience!
Stayed August 2013
a wonderful house, with very well considered lay out, very cozy, in a quite and peaceful place, with the beautiful garden and olive oil tree))). Located close to two big supermarkets/grocery, and the city Supetar, but yet you need to have a car. Welcoming people on the Island. Perfect for family of 3 or 4. Many beaches spots, that you can always find the one good for you, including sand-beach, may be 30 min drive from villa.
The owner was very helpful and welcoming, so we could always call for advice. We are grateful to the owner, and appreciate all the assistance and efforts. Every day we had housemaid, making beds and changing towels, A LOT OF TOWELS in the house.
Recommend:The Island is not that big, so just to make the trip around the Island, you will enjoy the pictures view of beautiful nature and small stone villages. We would recommend visiting Tomi restaurant that is in Dol village, 40 min drive from villa, good food, and good service. You can also buy their home wine, black olives, olive oil, all home made. Kapachino restaurant, 20 min drive from villa, very good food, service and view. BOL famous beach, worse to see and of course Vidova Gora.
Favourite villa moment: We enjoyed all the time being there, and I think most memorable moments are outside breakfast in the morning, sundown on sundeck and BBQ in the evenings with the garden and swimming pool lightning. We would love to get back to villa one day again!
Stayed June 2012
Excellent villa, beautifully designed, great location
Stayed July 2008
All went well for us thanks, stairs may be a little challenge for older or less agile guests, but we expected stairs etc in the old town, so fine for us. We thought the property was presented lovely and given we are used to similar type of style and comfort at home, my wife loved it (me too). The Croatian girl had spent some time in the states, so did go out of her way to made sure we were well informed and the likes of how to get to a really nice beach a few k's down the road, the wall walk etc.
Impressed with: The scenery and climate. The absence of pointless health and safety rules
Not impressed with: Split airport
Recommend: Punta Rata restaurant. Jet ski hire, rent a boat, speed boat to Brac
Favourite villa moment: Our 3 year old learning to swim without arm bands!
Stayed July 2012
Excellent. The property was beautiful and in a fantastically located area in the town making it easy to go out to local shops and restaurants. The caretaker, was lovely. Very friendly, helpful and whilst she was available by mobile phone at any time, she left us to our own devices after her initial welcome. She also very kindly let us stay in the villa until 12pm and even then, let us leave our luggage in the locked garden as our flight wasn't until evening.
We were hugely impressed with the whole service we got from Croatian Villas. Both the property and the resort were superb.
Impressed with: The island of Brac was beautiful and much less touristy than other places we have visited like Majorca or the Greek islands. The people were friendly, the food good and the prices for eating and drinking out incredibly good value.
Not impressed with: Nothing!
Recommend: The two restaurants we liked best were Palma and the other was just on the left of the steps down into the town - I've forgotten it's name! For coffee or drinks, Fjaka was lovely and reasonably priced. Also would highly recommend a day out on the Olinta boat with the lovely Captain Toni, Excellent value for money as it was a full 9 hours with stops for coffee, lunch and 3 swimming stops. Our teenagers loved it!
Favourite villa moment: The best times were simply relaxing by the pool or in the shade in the beautiful terraced garden and the chilled out evenings, after our harbour-side meal, sitting outside the villa playing cards with the children or reading.
Stayed August 2012
Suitable for our needs. Would return to the property if we required group travel accommodation Land line for telephone was not working. Beautiful country. Relax and enjoy
Impressed with: Beauty of the country and Adriatic coast.
Not impressed with: Bank services not readily available.
Recommend: Bar Nautica
Favourite villa moment: Enjoying breakfast and sunsets on the terrace. The entire first floor was enjoyed by all.
Stayed September 2015
The property was very well kept and in very good condition. The comments we would make is that the pictures did not fully give justice to how nice the property was.
The owner was very helpful when we arrived and during our stay. He provided us excellent travel tips, arranged boat rental with a local guide, and even provided us fresh fish which he prepared for us. He was in no way intruding, but available for us when we had questions.
Everything worked perfectly.
Impressed with: Friendliness of the people. Clear and fresh water. Low prices.
Not impressed with: Number of tourists and the heat in the larger cities.
Recommend: The next door coffee shop/bar is a natural choice with a great atmosphere. The local restaurants have good food and friendly service. To have something extra the best recommendation would be to rent a boat and go across to the isolated bay at Pakomina for some very good food and a a few hours on a perfect small beach there.
Favourite villa moment: The favorite with the kids is the pool area - a very nice pool and a beautiful area with very good sun beds. As for the adults the outdoor kitchen with a spacious dining area was the best - enjoying grilled fresh fish with some good wine was a perfect evening.
Stayed July 2013
Good selection of villas, in Telegraph travel article. The description of the location is rather misleading- it was much further uphill on a dirt track than expected. Villa offered great service.
Impressed with: People, service, great coastline
Stayed August 2016
The villa's location was absolutely perfect and secluded. The villa was beautiful and equipped we everything we needed. However, the internet connection was almost non-existent which made it very difficult for even the simplest tasks, such as checking our email or browsing.
The owner was extremely helpful and pleasant.
Better driving instructions for the villa. For example the mileage from Milna to the house would have been helpful, as well as better explanation of how to find the property. In the end we managed, but it was not very easy.
Impressed with: The beauty.
Not impressed with: The lack of aesthetics and details when it comes to new buildings and houses. There were a lot of bees and flies which often made it hard to enjoy our outdoor meals.
Recommend: The nearest town Milna was charming. Bol was another nice town to visit. Konoba Kopacina in Donji Humac was the best restaurant we tried.
Favourite villa moment: There were a few: going for an early morning swim in front of the house. We liked having cocktails on the deck before sunset with a beautiful view of the bay.
Villa Comments: The internet is good enough for e-mail and in general guests are satisfied with the internet connection. Up till now we have no problem whatsoever with receiving or sending e- mails. We are sorry guests experienced problems although we do recommend if guests are finding internet connection very slow they let us know and we can take a look and see what the problem is.
Stayed June 2013
I recently stayed at this beautiful villa near Milna (on the island of Brac) with my family of 4 and another couple of friends with 2 young children. The villa met my expectations in every way: the main house is nicely designed and has 3 bedrooms (the master bedroom is huge!) and air conditioning throughout. There is an annexed cottage (very nicely and recently renovated) where my teenager children slept more than comfortably (it has a bathroom and air conditioning as well!). In the main house, there is a large kitchen with a big wood burning oven, so we enjoyed grilled meals every day.
During the day, we all had fun in the reasonably sized swimming pool which is surrounded by trees and flowers: overall, the grounds are lovely landscaped and nicely manicured. But if that is not enough, there is also a beautiful semi-private beach accessible directly from the property.
At night, we ate outdoor in the gorgeous patio overlooking the bay, but our favorite area was the additional elevated, covered terrace where we had drinks and appetizers while admiring the wonderful landscape of the island. The location is just perfect!
Finally, the property owner, is attentive and courteous: her charm is just the final cherry to the cake! I have already recommended this property to other friends and family.
Stayed June 2013
I had an incredible time in the villa. It is one of the most beautiful places I have been in my life. It is nicely isolated in a relatively undeveloped area in a beautiful bay. Town is not too far although I would recommend having a car to pick up groceries. The house itself is very tastefully decorated and has been meticulously constructed to blend into the landscape. Making dinner in the wood oven was an amazing experience and we used homemade olive oil for everything we made! There are plenty of places to lounge in the Croatian sun all around the property whether it be on the roof, the various veranda's or by the pool or the bay itself. Perhaps the best part of our stay was our host. Incredibly accommodating and friendly. She was able to help us with our every request. She also knows everybody on the island! I hope to be able to come back here again. This is truly a gem and I am so happy it got the chance to stay here.
Stayed May 2013
Excellent. Very good.
Stayed August 2013
Our villa stay was outstanding and everything it was advertised to be.
Stayed June 2011
Excellent. Everything perfect.
Impressed with: Nature, architect, friendly people, food.
Stayed July 2012
This was an EXCELLENT villa and we had an extremely pleasant week.
Stayed June 2011
This is a fantastic villa for families. The location is ideal to see the whole of the island. We loved the fact that we could pick fresh figs from the garden for breakfast. The option to have dinner served in the villa should not be missed -- the food was excellent and good value.
Stayed September 2010
Staff were all very professional and helpful. Property was beautifully furnished and very clean. It is a new property. Location was superb: right on the beach and 4 km from Supetar.
Stayed August 2008
The photographs did not do it justice. It was brilliant - stylish, equipped to a very high standard, beautifully laid out, and extremely elegantly designed. Proximity to the beach and little beach bar were an asset with young children and the spaciousness never made us feel crowded even though we were a large group. The separate building for my daughter's family and her 3 young children were an added bonus. The surrounding garden was beautiful and use of the vegetable garden with picking our own tomatoes was a delight.
Extremely welcoming and could not have been more helpful.
This is our second trip with a big family group to a large villa and both have surpassed our expectations. Keep it up guys, we'll be back!
Impressed with: We have been visiting Croatia and sailing the Croatian islands for years so don't need to be impressed. We already love the vistas, the food, the people, the clear water for swimming.
Not impressed with: Nothing, except maybe queuing for the ferry to Supetar with a car!
Recommend: We loved the beach bar for a sundowner, watching the sun set over the sea. Kids loved a day at the Aquapark http://www.rentaroberts.com/en/aqua-park . Young adults enjoyed the watersports on the neighboring beach.
Favourite villa moment: Kids in the jacussi with underwater lighting and music playing!
