The Croatian coast and islands are blessed with a Mediterranean climate, which means long, hot, summers and a dry season stretching from early spring through to late autumn. The island of Korcula, for example, boasts 2,700 hours of sunshine per year; its average temperature for July is a very pleasant 26.9 degrees, while average rainfall in the same month is just 7mm.
You can expect many days in the summer when the temperature rises well into the 30s, so if you don’t like it too hot June or September might be your best time to travel. Of course, there’s no better way to cool down than to take a dip in the clear, relaxing waters of the Med. The average summer sea temperature around Dubrovnik is 21 degrees, which is something to think about on your way to work on a wet and windy morning in February…
