Art fans may want to visit Croatia to view group's unique work
18 November 2009Street art fans may want to book a holiday in Croatia after learning that a group of young artists have spent hours transforming some of Zagreb's streets and buildings.
The creative group were put together by bosses at the Kontraakcija Museologist Association, reports the Croatian Times.
Members have spent the last five days painting a giant illustration of Paska Cipka - a traditional Croatian lacework pattern - on to the ground in the Travno area of the city.
Other work includes the comic addition of features such as ventilation systems and windows to buildings in the Croatian capital.
The group's original aim was to spice up the more drab parts of their home city, but their work has proved so popular they may also be moving into tourist areas, the newspaper states.
All of the illustrations are part of the Museum of Settlements project which supports artistic intervention in Zagreb.
Fans of artistic design may wish to secure a Croatian villa as a base for their trip and also visit an exhibition of work from legendary sculptor Dusan Dzamonja which runs until December 15th in Split.
