Christmas in Cazma on a Croatian holiday
25 November 2009Travellers taking a Croatian holiday in the run-up to Christmas may want to visit Cazma for the opportunity to join in the town's festivities and witness one family's seasonal light show.
Located in central Croatia, Cazma is part of the Bjelovar-Bilogora County, which also includes the townships of Garesnica, Daruvar and Grubisno Polje.
Its festive celebration, The Christmas Story in Cazma, is one family's work, as the Salaj household lights up its garden in a multitude of colours.
The Croatian National Tourist Board says: "The Christmas stable and the manger and the decorations all over the garden ... offer an unforgettable sense of a deep dream followed by awakening in a world of fairytales."
It adds that the romance and educational value of the Christmas story is further enhanced for those who experience the Salaj family's interpretation of it - which could encourage many to take a Croatian holiday in the Bjelovar-Bilogora County.
