Dubrovnik offers cultural tourism discounts

The city of Dubrovnik is offering a ticket to tourists, which enables them to enter a myriad of cultural centres and popular sights.

The one-day ticket will cost just over 13 euros and is valid for entry to three spectacular museums as well as the Revelin fortress, the Dubrovnik art gallery and more, reports the Croatian Times.

Revelin fortress is one of the highlights of the discounted offer, having been built in the 16th century, this stunning piece of architecture is a must see for history fans.

Dubrovnik is a city steeped in romance and is described as a haven of poets, writers and scientists.

Playwright George Bernard Shaw is said to have loved the city. He said: "Those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik and see Dubrovnik."

It is believed that he was the first person to name it the "pearl of the Adriatic."

The Old Town of Dubrovnik also became a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1979.
