Experience Truffle Days on an Istria vacation
03 July 2009The popular Croatia holiday region of Istria is famous for its truffles - and vacationers heading to the area this autumn may want to participate in one of the many days dedicated to this delicacy.
From September 1st to November 30th this year, there will be a special focus on this food, allowing visitors to enjoy the local produce.
So-called Truffle Days will not take place every day during this period, but they are frequent throughout the autumn.
Product fairs and special food sales have been organised and they are sure to add an element of entertainment to a Croatia holiday.
Moreover, Istria is home to a number of restaurants that specialise in the food.
A statement advertising the forthcoming events on the official tourism website for the region said: "Istrian white truffle is one of the most highly-prized in the world today. So, if you are looking for the truffles - find Istria!"
