Favourable exchange rate could persuade people to travel to Croatia
23 December 2009Exchange rates are a crucial factor when deciding where to go on holiday - meaning a trip to Croatia could be on the cards for many people in 2010.
Tourists booking a Croatian villa or waterfront property on the Dalmatian coast can currently expect to receive more than eight kunas for one pound - something which one expert believes is a significant attraction.
Bob Atkinson, of travelsupermarket.com, said: "Exchange rates will always influence customers when selecting their destination. We are in a recession environment and consumers look for value for money."
Not only can travellers in Croatia experience a rich and diverse history, the beauty of several national parks and the unspoiled, picturesque coastline looking out over the Adriatic Sea, they can do so for significantly less cash than inside the eurozone.
Croatia could therefore be a tempting proposition for the increasing number of people planning to travel in 2010.
A recent study by Travel Zoo found that 42 per cent of Britons intend to take more overseas excursions next year than they did in 2009.
