In European accommodation Dubrovnik 'is one of the best'

When booking Croatian accommodation Dubrovnik is likely to be among the first places to look.

But Balkan Travellers reveals that doing so is more than a random choice, as the city has been nominated among the best providers of accommodation for the World Travel Awards 2009.

The city's Palace Hotel is just one of the shortlisted venues to come from that available to holidaymakers heading to Croatia.

When it comes to Croatian accommodation Dubrovnik is not the only location to make the nominees list.

Split, Korcula Island and Hvar Island all feature among the nation's entries in the European segment of the awards programme.

Meanwhile, eTurboNews notes the competition that the Palace Hotel faces from some of the continent's other premium accommodation.

Some 13 holiday residences from across Europe have been nominated in all, including hotels in Turkey, Austria and Italy, while two venues in London, England are also in the running.
