Tourists on Croatian visit may be interested in top pianist's performance
26 November 2009People currently enjoying a stay in a Croatian villa may want to venture out to a museum tonight (November 26th) to hear a top Italian pianist play.
Giuseppe Iampieri will be tickling the ivories at the Mimara Museum tonight from 19:00 local time, reports the Croatian Times.
The Zagreb-based musician is putting on the show to raise money for the area devastated by the Abruzzo earthquake in his homeland earlier this year.
Funds generated from his performance tonight will go towards rebuilding an historic Italian castle in Piccolomini, the newspaper states.
Iampieri has named the concert Homage to Wounded Abruzzo - an event which could be enjoyed by tourists in Croatia as much as locals.
A number of Croatian artists have donated work which will be on sale at the museum tonight and will also help to fund the reconstruction of the popular castle across the border in Italy.
The work of legendary composer Sigmund Romberg is being performed in a special concert in Belisce tomorrow night - meaning music fans on holiday in Croatia could be treated to the perfect double-header this week.
