British scouts 'enjoy Croatian experience'

A group of 14 to 18-year-old scouts from the UK have enjoyed a range of activities on the northern Dalmatian coast, it has been reported.

The teenagers spent a few days in Pula taking part in river rafting and helping wardens at a local park as part of their summer expedition, according to the Somerset County Gazette.

Survival sessions on a nearby island were the group's next port of call, followed by canoeing, sailing and swimming.

They also met up with a group of Dutch scouts to undertake voluntary work in the area.

Visitors to the region looking for something to do but maybe unprepared to take the seas have been informed there is plenty to do at the beginning of August.

The Sepomaia Viva festival is currently underway at an archaeological site near Umag, celebrating ancient times and featuring antique crafts, gladiators and legionnaires.

It follows the Pula Film Festival, which ended at the end of last month.
