British travellers 'looking to foreign music festivals'
30 June 2008
Music fans are opting to attend festivals across Europe as they aim to turn the experience into a holiday, it is claimed.
Ross Purdie, editor of Virtual Festivals, says poor weather and expensive tickets at home are leading many Brits to travel abroad for their summer festival fix.
As well as cheaper tickets, many like to go to festivals elsewhere in Europe for a "different experience", he claims.
Mr Purdie suggests foreign festivals can be done over a weekend for British travellers.
However, he adds: "If you're going further afield or going with a load of mates then you may want to turn it into a holiday and make it part of the wider experience."
