Croatia Travel: Value for money tempts tourists
30 July 2008
Croatia is good value for money and a very reasonably priced place to visit, it is suggested.
A spokesperson for Charisma PR, which represents the Croatian National Tourist Board, says the fact the country is outside the eurozone could prove popular for holidaymakers from countries like the UK and US, whose currencies are not strong against the Euro at the moment.
It is claimed this could be attracting visitors to the country, but the spokesperson adds it is a popular place to go, with its tourist numbers growing year-on-year anyway.
Croatia also has more natural charms to tempt travellers, the Charisma representative indicates.
"I think the countryside is very beautiful and the beaches and the water are very clean," they explain.
According to official statistics, tourism numbers in Croatia in the first quarter of the year were up by 14 per cent from 489,542 to 558,493 on the same period in 2007 - the number of foreign visitors increased by 30 per cent to 285,688.
