Croatia developers set for 'booming office market'

Croatia's economic boom has led to a new wave of commercial property development in its capital city, it has emerged.

Representatives for Colliers International released the firm's Zagreb Office Market Overview for the first half of this year, and revealed that they have witnessed falling vacancy rates in recently-constructed class-A offices.

They went on to suggest that the eastern European city should move towards more sustainable building techniques as 'green' issues become more prominent in the global business arena.

"Our goal is to implement this experience in Croatia and to add value both to our clients, investors and developers, as well as to the booming office market that is about to enter this new wave of development," remarked Tomislav Perovic, managing director of the international property consultant.

Earlier this year, Colliers was awarded the prestigious First Croatian Kuna, given to the top one per cent of companies in the burgeoning business hotspot.

The firm is responsible for some of Croatia's exciting retail developments – including the renovation of an "international-style" shopping centre in the central Dalmatia town of Sibenik.
