Croatia has 'all the best bits' of Europe
22 October 2008
A holiday in Croatia appeals because it provides the visitor with all the best bits of every other European country, it has been reported.
The country has historic towns like Italy, harbours similar to Greece, mountains like Spain and marinas reminiscent of France, according to the Independent.
Historic Dubrovnik is still the most popular place to visit along with Hvar island, as people buy property and holiday in both areas.
Further up the coast, the towns of Split and Zadar have experienced regeneration in the form of new roads and flights but are still unspoilt, the source says.
Andrew Piper, a property developer, said the picturesque island of Brac, an hour's ferry ride from Split, is a friendly and peaceful location.
"Sutivan is one of several lovely towns on Brac and comprises neat streets of stone houses, with cafés and restaurants lining the harbour," he added.
Recent news that Jet2.com has introduced new flights from Belfast to Croatia's Dubrovik will also make it easier for people to visit the country.
