Croatia holiday is 'hot' summer choice
19 February 2008
Croatia is fast-becoming the "hot" summer destination of choice among savvy travel enthusiasts, it has been claimed.
Tour operator On the Go pointed out that the eastern European hotspot is "ideal" for those who prefer a relaxing, culture-filled break.
"Not yet populated with the hordes of tourists, Croatia is ideal for a relaxing holiday," stated a representative from the firm.
She continued: "A mix of charming fishing villages, tiny offshore islands ringed with turquoise waters and marina ports lined with sleek boats makes this a most tranquil location."
Furthering the growing trend for maritime enthusiasts to head across the Adriatic in search of idyllic adventure, On the Go's spokesperson revealed plans to introduce a fleet of sailing boats which will pull into various harbours along the Croatian coast.
"Setting sail from the ancient port of Split, discover sun kissed beaches, deserted pebbled bays and the medieval city of Dubrovnik, with plenty of time to relax and unwind," she concluded.
Croatia travel expert Jonathan Gornall told the Times his recent sailing trip around the Dalmatian coast and Korcula - dubbed 'Little Dubrovnik' - was "the holiday of a lifetime".
