Croatia singled out as cheap holiday destination
18 April 2008
Croatia has been tipped as a good country for people to go to on holiday if they want to save some money on their travels.
An industry expert has said that because the Balkan country has its own currency, people can enjoy just as good as a time on holiday and spend less at the same time.
John Nicholas, director of Travelex.co.uk said: "Destinations within eastern Europe which still have their own currency such as Slovakia, Bulgaria and Croatia are continuing to gain popularity with tourists year on year as holiday makers travelling to these destinations find that they get a better value for their pound against the local currency."
He added that general living costs are also lower in destinations such as Croatia so money will "feel like it's going further than in typical Eurozone destinations".
