Croatia striker resolves club dispute
02 May 2008
Croatian football star Ivan Klasnic may not be on his way out of German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen after all, it has been revealed.
The striker had been expected to leave after he publicly criticised his employers earlier this week for failing to notice a kidney condition he had.
Klasnic was even believed to have opened legal proceedings towards team doctors, but a meeting between the two parties appears to have diffused the situation.
The player said he remains committed to the club and his mind is now on the task in hand.
"Both sides have committed mistakes," he explained, "from now on I will give everything for the direct Champions League qualification".
28 year-old Klasnic has scored eight goals in 26 appearances for his country.
He became the first professional player to return to international football after a kidney transplant when he played against Scotland at Hampden in March.
