Croatia 'to make changes for final group game'
16 June 2008
Ivan Klasnic is expected to make an emotional appearance for Croatia against Poland in the country's final group game at the European Championships tonight.
The striker is set to become the first man to play at the football finals following kidney transplant surgery.
Joining him in a much-changed team - Croatia have already qualified for the quarter-finals and are not willing to risk players on yellow cards who may be suspended if they pick up another booking tonight - will be Dario Simic.
Coach Slaven Billic told the BBC "it's only right" his former international team-mate leads the team out tonight.
He added: "It would be madness to field first-choice players who are on one yellow card and we also have a few minor knocks and bruises who need a break."
Another success could spell a lively night in Zagreb, where supporters of the national team have euphorically received Croatia's two wins so far.
