Croatia to see good summer ahead
03 July 2008
Croatia is expecting a good summer of tourism with an increase in visitors and celebrities.
Tourist numbers are expected to increase, as over 11 million people will take a trip to Croatia this year, tourism minister Dair Bajs told HRT television.
According to Mr Bajs, revenue from tourism is also expected to increase to over seven billion euros (£5.5 billion), BalkanTravellers.com reports.
French president Nicolas Sarkozy could also be in line to take a trip to Croatia and is sure to be accompanied by his glamorous wife Carla Bruni.
Jutarnji List claims the couple will visit Zadar to attend a Lenny Kravitz concert in August.
According to the country's tourist board, Zadar is located in the centre of the Croatian Adriatic.
Tourists visiting the area can see national parks and over 300 islands and inlets featuring numerous coves and beaches.
One of the most popular areas for travellers visiting the country, Zadar also has a wide range of restaurants, hotels and historical monuments to cater for all.
