Croatian industry 'aided by English university'

Region to region business links between Croatia and England could be bolstered by a joint venture between the University of the West of England (UWE) and the Polytechnic and Technical School of Karlovac, it has been claimed.

UWE revealed it is in wider talks to support these links between the two countries, according to worksmanagement.co.uk.

It is hoped the current project will support innovation and regional learning in education and training, as well helping Croatia's manufacturing industry deal with current issues with the Croatian and global economy.

Farid Dailami, UWE team leader, told the website it is helping with staffing and resourcing and advising on course content and delivering methods.

He added: "We are determining regional industry needs and helping the centre set up appropriate structures to respond to external demands.

"The UWE team is developing a range of innovative mechanisms for knowledge exchange to enable equipment, facilities and expertise from the centre of excellence to be accessed by local industrial clients."

In related news, the British Broadcasting Corporation recently agreed a deal with Croatian television channel HRT which will allow more of its programmes to be aired in the country.
