Croatia's 'can't miss' destinations surge in popularity

The island of Hvar has been dubbed the "cradle of Croatian tourism" by one travel expert.

According to luxury specialist Windstar Cruises, the destination is increasingly visited by "discriminating" and famous individuals from around the globe.

It went on to single out Split as both "forever young" and typical of the "warm Mediterranean temper and heart".

A spokesperson for the firm remarked: "The citizens of Split will tell you that their city is the most beautiful one in the world and beyond".

Dubrovnik is deemed another of Croatia's "can't miss" destinations, with Windstar describing the medieval city as a "treasure trove of historical monuments" which have been created throughout its thousand-year existence.

"The city is filled with museums and galleries, and has become a centre of modern cultural events," the cruise provider concluded.

Many holidaymakers who choose to cruise are increasingly turning toward the Adriatic and the diverse Dalmatian coast.

Trips which cover Dubrovnik through to Venice normally stop off at a range of ports including Ploce, Hvar, Sibenik, and Rab.ADNFCR-1197-ID-18466501-ADNFCR
