Cruise to Croatia in 2008, say travel experts

Anyone considering a cruise holiday this year is advised to explore Croatia's coast.
In its guide to the hottest destinations on the 2008 calendar, Cruise Critic singled out Eastern Europe's rival to the French Riviera as a tourism "must".
"Along with the increased popularity and availability of Asian and European cruises, other 2008 trends we are seeing include a greater number of fitness and spa-themed cruises," remarked Carolyn Spencer-Brown, editor-in-chief of the consumer website.
"For travellers planning to cruise in 2008, being aware of these trends provides valuable insight into new and expanding onboard activities and other potential cruise itineraries, opening up entirely new vacation possibilities," she continued.
Cruises including ports of call along Croatia's coast are listed as some of Europe's guaranteed warm-weather trips, as are those which explore the Black Sea.
Ms Spencer-Brown pointed out that some of the boat trips on offer around Croatia – including Dalmatia and its islands – have moved away from the traditional notion of showy extravagance to focus on travellers' health and wellbeing.
A large proportion of cruise lines now offer anything from boxing rings to private yoga lessons on board.
