Dubrovnik-Madrid air link launched

A new air route between Dubrovnik and Madrid has been launched and is expected to run over the summer months until October 12th.
Spanish airline Iberia is currently offering two weekly flights on Saturdays and Sundays and will operate the same timetable in October, Anna Aero reports.
From July to September three weekly flights will be available on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Iberia, which is the only airline connecting Dubrovnik and Madrid, told the news provider it expects to carry more than 14,000 passengers on the route this summer and reported an 85 per cent "load factor" on its first flight last week.
Glasgow-based flight operator Flyglobespan recently revealed it is offering connections to Dubrovnik from the Scottish capital, Edinburgh.
It becomes the second air link between the two countries, following the existing Pula to Edinburgh.
Rick Green, chief executive of the airline, said it is delighted to be offering the weekly flights between the two historic destinations.
