Dubrovnik 'proving popular with tourists'

Cruisers packed with tourists are converging on Dubrovnik for their summer holidays, it is claimed.
The old town square in Croatia's "Adriatic Pearl" has been filled with visitors, balkaninsight.com reports.
Such is the number of people in the medieval town that tourists are having to take their time to catch a glimpse of Dubrovnik's landmarks and have their photos taken.
It is estimated by the website that 12,000 travellers arrived in the town over the weekend.
One local told the website: "And it's only the beginning of June! Can you imagine us in July or August?"
Dubrovnik was recently praised by British economic and social policy group as a "magnet for tourists".
A delegate in the town on behalf of the institute for a conference said it is a "beautiful old walled city".
Eamonn Butler also claimed it was refreshing to see so many people of different nationalities in Croatia that are committed to free-market causes.
