'High quality' internet TV promised by Croatia-based firm

A Croatia-based telecommunications giant has announced plans for a technologically-advanced new television service - which promises to excite anyone thinking of renting a villa or apartment in the region.

The internet TV service (dubbed IPTV) will be provided by Ericsson subsidiary Nikola Tesla, whose representatives outlined their intentions to ensure the "highest quality" possible for broadband output.

Part of this effort involved the use of systems from Agama Technologies, a Swedish-based broadband specialist.

"The Agama solution helped us to deliver a complete end-to-end IPTV quality measurement solution to our customer," remarked Stjepan Cerovecki, an account manager with Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

He added: "We were especially pleased with Agama's flexibility and speed in product customisation, that enabled us to fulfil all customer requirements."

The move marks Croatia's continuing rise within the world of electronics, entertainment and mobile technology, with holidaymakers and ex-pats alike enjoying an evolving range of affordable telecommunications offers.

In another recent coup for the Adriatic hotspot, Yugoslavia-based film production company Komuna signed a new partnership deal with the aim of furthering eastern Europe's input into the wider entertainment and media world.
